A sturdier engine under your workouts, and groundwork for more
We rebuilt the engine behind workout creation so every session is checked end to end before it reaches your calendar. Most of this you will not see today, and that is the point: it is the foundation for richer strength and swim detail and more devices, plus a quicker, safer app behind the scenes.
Some updates are about a new button. This one is about the thing underneath the button: the part of IntervalsPro that turns "give me a VO2max session on Tuesday" into a real, structured workout on your calendar. We rebuilt it, and we were honest with ourselves about what that does and does not change for you today.
Every workout, checked before it lands
When you ask the coach for a session, it now builds your workout as structured data and runs it through a single, strict engine before anything is written to your calendar. That engine validates the whole session, encodes it the way a device expects, and refuses to emit anything that would not be valid. If a workout cannot be built correctly, it says so clearly rather than quietly producing something broken.
For most sessions you will not notice a difference, because the workouts you were getting were already good. What changed is the floor underneath them: there is now one trusted path that everything flows through, with thousands of automated checks behind it, so the odd malformed workout has nowhere to hide.
Groundwork for strength, swim, and your devices
The bigger reason we did this is what it unlocks next. The new engine understands strength sessions as real exercises with sets, reps, weight and tempo, and swim sets with stroke and equipment, rather than flattening them into a generic block. It also knows what different platforms can and cannot represent, so a workout can be shaped correctly for where it is going.
None of that is switched on for you yet. It is the scaffolding for proper strength and swim detail and cleaner sync to more devices, and it is the kind of work that is invisible right up until the day it is not.
Quicker and safer under the hood
Alongside the engine, this release rolls up a batch of reliability and security work: a handful of subtle timing issues in chat and background jobs ironed out, tighter handling of your account and data, and hardening across the app and the mobile shells. Nothing you have to do anything about. It just means a steadier, safer IntervalsPro.
Coming next
Turning the groundwork into things you can actually feel: first-class strength and swim workouts you can build in chat, and cleaner hand-off to Garmin, Zwift and friends. We will tell you when each one is live, not before.
